We have decided to trial a method using WhatsApp Communities. This method will allow us to categorise volunteers into relevant groups which will enable sectional / role specific information to be circulated quickly and more efficiently. I have included a little bit of information below on how WhatsApp will work for the District.
I have also attached the QR Code for the questionnaire for your leaders to scan and complete, should this be easier.
WhatsApp is a widely used app for communicating with others, whether that is personally or professionally. The App is a great way of communicating with groups of people quickly and efficiently. WhatsApp has a built-in feature called “Communities” this is where a large group of people can be added into a group where Information and communications can be shared* This group can then be broken down further into smaller groups for volunteers with the same roles / sections**
*This group would be “Read Only” and to be used for announcements & information that will be published by the District team!
** These groups will be an open forum for volunteers in the same role or section to share ideas, ask questions, circulate section specific information etc
