The 38th Rotherham Cubs really went to town this year and thoroughly celebrated Chinese New Year.
We had a Chinese Graphic designer Silkin Tan (http://www.silkintancreativedesign.co.uk/) visit us and talk to us about Chinese New Year. We did some Chinese writing and design work relating to New Year traditions.
We also learnt that it is the year of the Sheep. Silkin was kind enough to design some book marks for all the Cubs.
We also spent a few weeks designing and making a real Chinese Dragon complete with a 5 metre orange tail and very scary face. This involved some DIY to saw the sticks and sewing to attach the sticks to the tail.
The cubs all enjoyed dancing underneath the dragon to Chinese New Year music.
