Cub Badge Day
Dear Cub Leaders,
We are delighted to invite your Cubs to the Rotherham District Cub Badge Day, taking place on Saturday 26th September 2026 at Hesley Woods Scout Activity Centre.
This promises to be a fantastic day packed with adventurous activities, new skills, and plenty of fun with Cubs from across the District.
Date: Saturday 26th September 2026
Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Venue: Hesley Woods Scout Activity Centre
Cost: £7.50 per youth member
Badge Work
During the day, Cubs will work towards the following badges and skills:
Backwoods Cooking
Pioneering
Navigation Skills
The programme has been designed to be practical, hands-on and engaging, giving every Cub the opportunity to develop new skills while enjoying the outdoors.
What to Bring
Please ensure all young people bring:
Full Cub Scout uniform (to wear on arrival)
Suitable outdoor clothing
Sturdy footwear or walking boots
Waterproof coat
Packed lunch
Refillable drinks bottle
Small amount of money got the camp site shop.
A juice station will be available throughout the day for young people to refill their drinks bottles, and a tea and coffee station will be available for leaders.
Leaders
Please ensure your group is accompanied by sufficient leaders to maintain the appropriate adult-to-young-person ratios.
If you have any leaders or helpers who would be willing to assist with running activity bases during the day, we would greatly appreciate your support.
