What started out as a social evening to get our members, leaders and parents together, became a fund raising event for Cystic Fibrosis following the recent death of a former member, Michael Blackett, son of our previous Scout leaders Andrea and Neil. The event was attended by over 60 people, mainly beavers, cubs and scouts and their parents and everyone had a great time.
We held a raffle, for which we received donations of prizes from local businesses, parents and work colleagues and raised a massive total of £330 for the Cystic Fibrosis unit at the Northern General.
We had many comments from parents about how much they had enjoyed the evening and asking if we can make it an annual event, one mum even suggested once a month! But that may be pushing it a bit.
