Like many of us in Rotherham the 6th Rotherham are no different. They have been meeting on Zoom throughout the pandemic teaching the young people of Wath many Scouting Skills for Life. Their most recent zoom session for their Beavers was around St Georges Day and all about the patron saint of Scouting.
In their meeting they have made their own St Georges Flag as well as learning about the story of George and the Dragon. They then completed a word search around St George which they all had great fun finding the words. Next they learnt how every year Scouts from around the UK celebrate St Georges with a parade and by renewing their promise. They did this by completing the promise hands that can be found on the Scouts HQ website and then had a moment to think how they can put their promise into practice every day.
At the end of their zoom session they held their flags up while making the promise by making the Scout Sign with their right hand. It sounds like Raksha who planned the evening on Zoom had great fun along with all the Beavers and other Leaders.
Sadly this year we won’t be having a large get together with the district in person as we normally would like to. This year we are having a district zoom quiz open to everyone. Details are available on our Facebook Page as well as on the events section of the District Website.
