On Sunday groups from all over Rotherham scattered across the district to remember all those people that have given their lives in wars past and present.
The 48th Rotherham split up and went to Swinton and Wath memorial services. The Explorers and Network went up Bleaklow to visit a crashed plane from the war and pay their respects. At the 42nd (Thorpe Hesley) they held a double remembrance ceremony. They attend church and then the war memorial for the 2 minutes silence at 11am. They then paraded through the village to a separate memorial which is at Flanders court (OAP sheltered housing) where they repeated the ceremony for the elderly that could not make it to the church. The 11th and Wales Explorers paraded at the church in Wales. A fantastic turn out from Bramley Scout and Guide units best ever.
