We are sad to inform you that Anne Harris passed away on Tuesday, 23rd January at Eastwood House Care Home.
Anne was diagnosed with Dementia a couple of years ago but as it had progressed and Anne had had a couple of falls resulting in being in hospital, it was decided that it would be best if she went into care in the late Autumn of 2023.
Anne also had a heart condition but it had never stopped her being a dedicated Scout Leader at both the 3rd (East Dene)and the 8th (Wickersley) Groups. She was also a member of the District team in Rotherham for many years. Anne supported the district throughout the years and continued to attend the St George and Christmas Celebrations the district held at Talbot Lane church.
As yet we do not have any information regarding her funeral, but her son Martin will be letting Rachael Ridsdale know in due course.
Update: The funeral of Anne Harris will be held on Friday, 23rd February, at Rotherham Crematorium at 11.00a.m. The family have requested no flowers but instead donations will go to the British Heart Foundation. There will not be a wake afterwards. Leaders are welcome to wear uniform.
