The Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor and Mrs. Foden along with Councillor Jahangir Akhtar, Deputy Leader of Rotherham MBC, attended the presentation evening at the Carlton Park Hotel.
71 Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts and Explorer Scouts where presented with their Bronze; Silver; Gold and Platinum Chief Scout Awards respectively by the Mayor.
10 number of Explorer Scouts received their Bronze ‘Duke of Edinburgh’ Award and 3 received the highest award in Scouting the ‘Queen Scout’ Award from the Mayor.
Councillor Jahangir Akhtar presented 5 ex Council Laptops to the District, mainly for the Explorer and Network Scouts to use for planning and recording their training and expeditions for their awards.
The District Commissioner, Neil Leatherhead, presented Mr. John Whitham (District Chairman) and Mr. Ivor Jordan (District Treasurer) with their 50 year Adult Service Award Certificates.
