Adult volunteers are at the heart of Scouting in Rotherham, and we hope that you will get every bit as much out of it as you put in. Scouting is not only about young people, but also about the development of adults within the Movement.
To support adults in Scouting, the Association provides a comprehensive programme of training to build on existing skills and knowledge and develop new competencies.
Some elements of training can count towards externally-recognised qualifications, and within the movement there are also awards to recognise dedication to training and outstanding service.
All adults (except Occasional Helpers) with a role in Scouting need to complete the mandatory training as soon as they can when taking their role. Links to the training can be found below.
Within the County, there is now an online learning course for First Aid. Once completed a certificate will be produced that can be used to support the validation once a short practical session has also been completed.

Depending on your role, you will have other training requirements that can be found here.
South Yorkshire also regularly run training sessions. To see whats on offer and book a course just head over to their website.
If you need more support or guidance then you can either contact your Training Advisor or use the contact us form and mark your query as “Training”.
